Growth Mindset so far

Greetings!

This summer, our district had a professional development where we talked a great deal about Growth Mindset.

I am so excited for this trend in education!  It is really something that I can see integrated into my teaching philosophy already, but also a great area for me to improve and grow with.

As I read articles and watch videos, I'm learning a lot about Growth Mindset and will be posting as I learn, but I wanted to talk about some resources I have found so far.   I will be posting more as I learn and grow.

I'm not a master at Growth Mindset...YET

Growth Mindset Resources So Far

1. I started a Growth Mindset Pinterest board.  I have been pinning links, memes, and TPT products from other sellers.

2.  There are many sellers on TPT that sell Growth Mindset products.  Right now, there are only 2 stores, that I could find, that are dedicated to Growth Mindset.  Through TPT I have collaborated a couple of times with a new seller that is ALL about Growth Mindset. Her store is called Growth Mindset in Action.  She has a lot of great elementary Growth Mindset products and lessons.

 3. Everyone talks about Classdojo's Growth Mindset videos, and they are AMAZING if you haven't check them out yet. But, I also think there are some great Growth Mindset videos on Cosmic kids.  Check out this I Can't Monster Mindfulness video.

There aren't many links posted here, yet but there will be more as I learn.  Check back in for more updates and resources that I discover as I learn.

What are your favorite Growth Mindset resources?
Post them below and share!

Temporarily Free!

I am curious to receive some feedback on my new playlist product. So, I thought I would offer it in a "Flash Sale" so to speak.  I am curious to see whether or not this product is decent.  From now until July 8th, this product will be marked as "Free". Take a look and see what you think. I would LOVE your feedback.

Elementary Classroom Playlists

This last year, my teaching partner and I used music to help our students with transitions.  What an amazing boost to their energy and ours!

We used the music as a rotation signal during stations and had pack up playlists for students to listen to.  When the music was finished, students were to have their items and be seated.  They LOVED it!

Here were just a few of our favorites.

You've Got A Friend in Me by Randy Newman

Lost Boy by Rachel B.

Oh What A Beautiful Morning by Ray Charles

Send Me On My Way by Rusted Root

Fireflies by Owl City

Because it is summer, I am currently on the hunt for some new songs to add to my playlist.

Here are links to my TPT Classroom Playlist and Freebie Classroom Playlist.

But, I wanted to know what some of your thoughts were.

Do you use music in your classrooms? How?

What are some of your favorite songs?

June 1st, 2016

Greetings Educators!

This is my first post on Learning Lane and I am so excited to start collaborating with many of you on this forum.

It was tough to decide what to write about in this "maiden" post, but I thought as it is the end of one academic year, it's time to contemplate the new year.

My favorite thing about being a teacher is that each year is a new adventure.  August brings a fresh start.  New challenges.  And the epic teacher vs. pencil battle begins with me in the lead.

In honor of our summer of planning and preparing, I thought I would post my classroom themed materials for this year.  My teaching partner and I adopted a map and vintage travel theme for the year.

This is the Freebie that can give you a look into what the rest of the pack has to offer.  I tried to create a few options to give some variety and made items that I am using in my class currently.

This is a link to the editable behavior chart I created to go along with the vintage travel theme.  I thought these suitcases were really cute and a neat way to incorporate vintage travel.  I know not everyone has the same consequences and rewards, so I specifically created an editable chart so that you can change what each color means.

Finally, right now you can get my entire Vintage Travel pack for $5.  It's a GREAT deal!  Check out the preview on this link to see what you what a bargain this is.

I am currently working on a few more projects right now, including a few book studies and a teacher's guide to setting up your classroom library.  So, keep your eyes peeled for new updates!

Enjoy your summer!
